Smugsy to Kirk Minihane: Be a Man with Pants

Of course Smugsy has to call out Blind Mike for pulling a “No Pants” on his little YouTube show when he interviewed his mother and ambushed her with excruciating and embarrassing questions about her sexuality and other deeply private matters.

And for what? The so-called “interview” had no redeeming value whatsoever.

It wasn’t funny, it didn’t provoke interesting questions about culture, or express an opinion or tell a story.

What’s next on the show? Blind Mike videotaping his little sister in the bathroom?

In large part thanks to Smugsy’s peacekeeping efforts, Bob Murchison has moved on to other causes but beware. Nature abhors a vacuum.

The Murchison-free zone is a void in the Kirk Minihane Show that must be filled — but do you seriously want a No Pants in a starring role? For now on will Minifans be expected to bear witness to his demons?

The audience for a blind comedian with a serious Oedipus complex seems limited — and more importantly — what does his interview say about Kirk Minihane the man? He’s doing this crap for you, right?

Are you so self-consumed and insecure to demand fealty from an underling of such a degrading degree?

Do you condone a young man’s disrespect for his loving mother as a price to pay to be part of a show?

Smugsy didn’t think so.

Blind Mike’s “interview” was painful to watch because of what it said about his values and what he would do to ascend upwards another rung on the ladder to fame in the cult of personality online.

He is apparently willing to do anything for survival on the fledgling Kirk Minihane Show including irrevocably tarnishing his mother’s good name and reputation. All to score a few points for a show Barstool Sports appears to be ready to punt.

Why is Blind Mike sacrificing his family’s dignity for a long-shot chance of being popular in a parody world?

Is that what’s demanded by you, Kirk Minihane? Because if so you are not Podcast Jesus or seriously lost in the wilderness and need help.

If Blind Mike’s abhorrent behavior was not asked for by you, as Smugsy suspects, you have no choice but to condemn it.

Be worthy of your following by showing moral leadership!

Real men will be judged in the history books by how they use their power on earth. Do the right thing!

Forgive Blind Mike, but do not reward him. Lead him.

The interview was disturbing and crossed the line between what is provocative and what is perverted. It’s that simple.
